I have a box I want to fill

With things that show my God , His will

I want so much to do my part

To share my God from heart to heart

I tried to put God’s love inside

It would not fit, it’s too deep and wide

I tried to put His grace in place

The box was too small, not enough space

I know that His peace is no small matter

But in my box it began to shatter

And what would show how Christ redeems

Would bust my box at every seam

I want my box to show someone

To share the Father and the Son

I tried to fill it with the things

His love, His mercy, His grace will bring

I won’t give up, I will not quit

There must be something that will fit

And then God’s wisdom came to me

I began to understand, I began to see

God has no limits, He has no size

He is all knowing and oh so wise

My God is great, He is almighty

And that is why my box is empty

(1Corinthians 2:9)

Mirror, mirror on the wall

Show my reflection, faults and all

Let me see what others see

When I look in, do I recognize me

Mirror, mirror in my hand

You can show me where I stand

Can you see Jesus inside of me

Am I all that Jesus wants me to be

Mirror, mirror God’s Holy Book

Jesus’ reflection is seen when you look

Instructions for life on every page

For all, young and old, for every age

The Bible is my looking glass

I look to it to help me pass

The trials of life that come and go

It’s Jesus’ reflection I want to show

Just as a mirror looks back at you

That’s what the Bible is here to do

Use the Bible to see yourself true

Don’t point it at others, like hypocrites do

Been away from Jesus for so long

Wondered why my life was going wrong

He use to walk beside me everyday

But I’m the one who wandered away

Now I see the errors of my way

Satan had done blinded my eyes

And all I did was sit around and cry

When you let the Lord head your life

God has given us Jesus’ name

To lose out on life would be a shame

I have wasted so many years

I have cried a river full of tears

But Jesus hasn’t given up on me

And now I know where I want to be

Just as you care for your own child

The Father cares for you

As you give yours the very best

The Lord wants best for you

You teach your children right from wrong

And hope they will do good

The Father does the same for us

And do His will we should

Jesus came and died for us

Redeemed us from our sins

God gave to us His only Son

All battles fought He wins

As a mere man, who is born in sin

Can love his child so dear

That when they ask, you give your all

You give it free and clear

Your Father who has known no sin

Can love you even more

He gives real love in parenting

And all He gives is pure

We are His children, He holds us dear

When ever we call, He will be there

He is Abba Father and is always near

And as His children, we are in His care

So in all your parenting ups and downs

Let God be our example

Do not despair or wear a frown

As parents we’re just samples

God’s the epitome a fathers’ love

He rains blessings down upon us

He provides for our every need

And in His love there is justice.

I use to look upon my life

Through guilt and pure rejection

Now I look upon my life

As Christ has brought redemption

I use to think I was not fit

To be called a child of God

Now I know that it was just

One of Satan’s great facades

I use to think of Heaven

As a place in someone’s mind

Now I know it’s home for me

Prepared for all mankind

I use to read the Bible

Not knowing what it said

Now I study God’s Holy Word

And understand what’s read

I use to have a friend or two

I thought friends were a must

But now I have a friend in Christ

Friend that I can trust

I use to rush from day to day

To prepare for my tomorrows

Now my faith is in the Lord

For He watches over sparrows

I use to do a lot of things

That I don’t do any more

I have the Lord to guide me

Down to that peaceful shore
